What is a Cantook Account?


A Cantook Account makes transferring and reading your e-books on your different devices a lot easier.
It offers a comprehensive range of reading tools that are entirely free of charge:


Online reader

  • Allows you to read your e-books on the screen without installing the application.
  • Offers the possibility of having your e-books read aloud.


Automatic transfer of your e-books to the Cantook application

  • Available for all smart phones and tablets (Android and iOS devices).
  • Managing DRMs is a thing of the past: the e-books in your Cantook Account can be automatically transferred to the Cantook application.

How the Cantook Account works


How do I create a Cantook Account and link it to my leslibraires.ca customer account?

  1. Go to the “My e-books” section of your customer account on leslibraires.ca.
  2. In the blue box at the top of the page, click the “I want to create an account” button.
  3. Provide the requested information to create your Cantook Account (email and password).
  4. You will then be redirected to leslibraires.ca
  5. Once you have completed the process, the e-books you have already purchased on leslibraires.ca will automatically be added to your Cantook Account library. This may take a few minutes.


IMPORTANT: Your e-books will remain accessible at leslibraires.ca even if they have been transferred to your Cantook Account. If you want, you can always upload them directly at leslibraires.ca.

 

How do I access my Cantook Account?

  1.  Go to the “My e-books” section of your customer account on leslibraires.ca. 
  2. In the blue box at the top of the page, click the “Go to Cantook” button.

You can also go directly to the Cantook website at cloud.cantook.com.


How do I transfer an e-book to my Cantook Account?

You don’t have to do anything: once your leslibraires.ca customer account has been linked to your Cantook Account, the e-books you purchase will automatically be transferred to your Cantook Account.
If one of your e-books does not appear in your Cantook Account a few minutes after you purchase it, please contact us at clients@leslibraires.ca.


How do I use my Cantook Account online reader?

  1. Log in to your Cantook Account.
  2. Click the cover of your chosen e-book to start reading online.
  3. Some e-books may not be compatible with the online reader. View the details of all e-books in the leslibraires.ca catalogue for more information.


How do I transfer the e-books that are in my Cantook Account to the reader in the Cantook mobile application?

To find your books in your Cantook application:  

  1. If you have not yet done so, install the Cantook app on your smart phone or tablet. 
  2. Open the application and log in to your Cantook Account.
  3. Your e-books will automatically appear in your Cantook application library.
  4. Some e-books may not be compatible with the Cantook application. View the details of all e-books in the leslibraires.ca catalogue for more information.


Frequently asked questions


I can’t find the books I purchased on leslibraires.ca in my Cantook Account, what do I do?

In some rare cases, the books may not be compatible with the Cantook Account. View the details of all e-books in the leslibraires.ca catalogue for more information.  
If there is no mention of incompatibility with the Cantook Account, please contact our support team at clients@leslibraires.ca.


Can I read all the books I purchased on leslibraires.ca using the Cantook Account?  

All books can be synced, but their availability to be read using the online reader, the mobile application or your reader can vary. However, you can always read the book on your computer using the Thorium and Adobe Digital Edition applications.


Are there any restrictions on the number of devices I can use to access my Cantook Account personal library?

No. You can log in to your Cantook Account, accessible at cloud.cantook.com, on as many devices as you like.


Can I access my synced e-books on multiple devices?  

Yes. In some cases, the book may be protected by a digital lock which limits the number of devices you can use to read the book to six.


What if I forget my password for my Cantook Account?

You can reset your password in the login screen:

  1. Visit cloud.cantook.com
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Click: “Forgotten your password?”
  4. Enter the verification code which will be sent to you by email.
  5. Choose a new password.  

 

How do I change the password for my Cantook Account?
Go to the “Settings” section in the “Your Account” menu in your Cantook Account personal library. You will be asked to enter your current password and then the new password you wish to use.


I have lost access to my Cantook Account, what do I do?

  1. Check that you are using the correct email address.
  2. You may not have the right password. At cloud.cantook.com, ask to create a new password by clicking “Forgotten your password?”.
  3. If this still does not work, please contact our support team at clients@leslibraires.ca.
